Malcolm Little was originally a petty criminal and drug addict who went to prison and converted to a very racist version of the Moslem religion!. They believed in the superiority of the Black race and saw all White people as devils!.

He hated whites and wanted Black people to stay separate from them and their society!. He blamed the White race and the United States government for every problem that the Black people had, even those that they did to themselves!. The White people were nothing but scapegoats for the bad activities of some Black people!.

Somewhere down deep though, there was some spark of intelligent thought left in Malcolm!. When he started seeing the illegitimate children of the leader of the Black Moslems, he started questioning people and their actual beliefs!. When he went to the Middle East, he found something that the Black Moslems never admitted were around!.!.!.!.WHITE believers in the real Moslem faith!. At this time he realized that not all white people were evil and devils!.

He still hated white people, but he stated his own version of the Moslem religion and was killed by the Black Moslems for it!.

As for him being a "hero"!?!?!? I can't see why!. He didn't do anything really except admit that not all white people were Evil or devils!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Malcolm X and Martin Luther King were two sides of the same coin!. King wanted African-Americans treated with respect and dignity; Malcolm wanted that too!.

But King wanted integration to work, and for African-Americans to be incorporated completely into American life!. When Malcolm was a devout Black Muslim (he had a major falling out with them just before his assassination), he wanted a separate place for African Americans, and perhaps a return to Africa!. As he matured he became willing to work with the non-violent civil rights leaders (like King, Ralph Abernathy, etc!.), but wanted African Americans to have the same right of self determination (including the right to defend themselves from violence, if needed) as whites did!.

I'm not sure Malcolm deserved the title of "hero," but I think as he became less inclined to violence to acquire rights, he became much more admirable!. He was certainly an important counterpoint to Martin Luther King!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Malcom X is a civil right activist during the time when the Black people were seeking similar rights from the White!. His principle was different from that Martin Luther because Malcom X wanted a separate state for the Blacks!. He wanted to establish a civil war!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
