Tonight in Oxford Mississippi there are indications that the first scheduled Presidential debate will be worked out even if only by the "seat of John McCain's pants" as he slides into the Campus auditorium with a minute or two to spare - - will there be moments like the power outage where both men stood frozen on the stage or like Ford's impassioned defense of the political freedoms in Poland!? 10 points for most accurate prediction or quick summation after 10:30 p!.m!. Eastern Time Zone tonight!. !. !.hopefully we likely voters will not be disappointed with making time to watch!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, when Obama declared that the $700 billion financial crisis was "the final verdict on eight years of failed economic policies promoted by George Bush, supported by Senator McCain!." and McCain kept muttering, "Senator Obama just does not understand" foreign policy the way 72-year-olds do or is "naive" about Russia/"the surge" and so forth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think he'll be there and I agree they are WAY overrated - although this one is not!. It's important and I encourage all to watch it!.
The one thing I remember was when Reagan crossed the stage to where Jimmy Carter was standing at his podium to shake his hand!.
He "won" the debate there and then!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

considering mccain won't be there for the debate, i'd consider that a pretty historic moment!. or lopsided at least!. also, ford's impassioned defense of poland didn't do him any good, considering he lost in 76!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Personally I think debates are way overrated, the candidates know the questions in advance and it really only comes down to who is a better public speaker which does not mean they will be a good president!. I don't watch debates because I won't decide who to vote for based on who appears to win the debate, one candidate might do a much better job of articulating his position but it doesn't mean he is right!. If John Adams and Thomas Jefferson had debated publicly the way they debated privately over Adams' refusal to get the U!.S!. involved in the French revolution Jefferson would have won but history has shown and Jefferson admitted years later that Adams was right!.

Do your homework on both candidates, find out what they've stood for in the past not what they are promising now and make your decision based on that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
