Most rational people in the north and south,considered his actions horrid and and act of terrorism, and were horrified and enraged at what he had done and tried to do!.even die hard abolishionists objected highly to the idea of attacking a federal arsenal,murdering lawful citizens and the very idea of an armed slave revolt(there were a huge number of slave owners in the northern states ) Even the ones devoted to freeing the slaves largely considered them ,violent subhumans and the idea of them running around in armed violence was terrifyingWww@QuestionHome@Com
