Question: When the U!.S!. soldiers arrived to the camps during WWII to free the remaining prisoners !?!? !?
What were their reactions !? They must have suffered anything worse than Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome!. Am I wrong !? These soldiers were exposed to horrifying scenes not to mention their fights on the battlefields!. Has there been any books regarding the "aftermath" !?!?
Thank you !Www@QuestionHome@Com

For a dramatic recreation of what you're talking about, see the HBO series Band of Brothers, Episode 9, "Why we fight!." It's about the liberation of a camp -- not a death camp, "just" a Nazi work camp!.

Witnessing the Holocaust affected different soldiers in different ways, and this one-hour film shows how it affected several American soldiers!.

There are several books on the liberation of the camps!. And I found what looks like a good link to get you started: Www@QuestionHome@Com

Look at Richard Dimbleby’s description of the (British) liberation of Bergen Belsen, as a public figure his reaction is perhaps best observed!.
