Alexander was a strong ruler who believed firmly in the absolute monarchy!.

His son was weaker and allowed his wife and her friends, as well as family situations to guide some of his policies!. From my understanding, Nicholas didn't particularly WANT to rule as he was much happier being a family man and a regular soldier!.

Alexander was assassinated!. Nicholas and his family were murdered!.

Nicholas also signed many reforms and measures under pressure from radicals and government officials which his father would never have allowed!.

The best bet would be to compare policies of the two rulers, such as laws that they passed or dissolved or the lives of the Russian people during their different reigns!. Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
