Question: Why did Americans in the eighteenth century embrace both religion and science with equal fervor!? !?

They were smarter back then and knew that science and religion do not necessarily contradict one another, for the most part people today are too narrow minded to be able to understand that concept!. Today most people want everything simplified and embracing religion and science equally requires a person to actually learn about both instead of spending 5 minutes on Wiki and thinking there's nothing more to learn!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
