Question: How long did the Roman civilization exist!?

Historians cannot even agree for sure as to when it ended, and no one knows for sure when it started!. There was a small village as early as 500BC, but the empire probably would be dated from 241 BC when they defeated Carthage!. The final collapse of Rome was in the late 400s AD, I think in 476!. This would give the civilization a life of slightly over 700 years!. The Eastern Roman Empire which split from Rome continued on in what is now Turkey and the Middle East until it was destroyed by Muslims in the mid 1400s!. So if you count it, Roman civilization lasted an additional 1000 years in the East!. I may not be exactly correct on the dates, but the above is a fairly close summary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
