I just finished reading the book 1776 by David McCullough and have to do some questions!. I think some significant people might be Alex Hamilton, Nathaniel Greene, and John Adams!. But I think there's someone else that was really significant, any ideas!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

His father died young, and from all accounts, his mother was a petulant shrew!. Lawrence was the closest George had to a father figure, but for the "most significant person in George Washington's life", it has to be Martha!.
She brought to their marriage a substantial fortune to solidify his financially shaky social position, she gave him the love and support he never seemed to get from his mother, she was a loyal helpmeet who traveled back and forth from Mt!. Vernon to be with him in winter quarters during the Revolutionary War!. She gave him the financial, social, and emotional stability which made everything else possible!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well i think it was his half brother Lawrence but there are a few to choose from!. I think John Adams might have been one!.

That would have to be any one of the ebony slavewomen working in the fields harvesting those yams and picking the cotton!.

Did McCullough not mention this, or was that found to be too honest to be thought discrete!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

His half-brother Lawrence was virtually his father growing up!. They were very close, and Lawrence had a lasting impact on Washington's life!. Hamilton was very influential during Washington's presidency!. I might go with Hamilton!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Probably his mother!!
If it were not for her, !.!.!.

Of course his father had a very important part too, as well as training him when he was young -- IF his father lived long enough!.

Sadly, G!.W!. turned into a rebel!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

John Jay or John Knox!. Greene died in 1785!.
Martha was a dedicated wife and had a sense of honor that is believed by most historians to be love!. My vote goes with MarthaWww@QuestionHome@Com
