Question: What would've happened if the Reformation had never happened, or if it had happened in Asia!? !?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
It could never have happened in Asia as the reformation required that the catholic church existed in the given area!. Asia had yet to be exposed to Catholicism and even by today's standards has not spread as hit has in European countries!. Christianity in Asia is considered a minority religion but widespread!. Only two countries are predominantly Christian- the Philippines, the 4th largest Catholic Nation in the world, and East Timor!. There is also a large Christian community in Lebanon (40%) and South Korea (30%)!. There are also many Christians in China, Russia, Israel and India but are very small groups!.

Had the reformation never happened!. People would still be paying for forgiveness of sins and be blackmailed by the catholic church!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Kenny, the Reformation is actually called the "Protestant Reformation" and the thing being reformed is the Roman Catholic Church (RCC)!. The RCC had no real presence in Asia, and no power at all there!. It was the RCC's abuses that led Europe to attempt to throw off the burden of the Church's dictatorship, and form governments that served the nation instead of the Church!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Reformation was the first in a series of events that led to the establishment of what is Western culture!. The scientific advances, forms of artistic representation, study of astronomy would not have occured!. In short the world we live in would probably be a world of superstition governed by Monarchies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
