Criminals, and many innocents were punished all over Europe during the Middle Ages (roughly 500 CE to 1500 CE)!. This is a thousand year history, so you can say medieval punishment happened EVERYWHERE!.

If you mean where were punishments usually carried out, punishment was a form of propaganda in the Middle Ages, which rulers used to reinforce their hold on power, so punishment often occurred in a public arena like a plaza or courtyard!. Because of this, punishment and execution was often a public spectacle, and was used to advertise a ruler's executive and judicial powers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
