Question: Abraham Lincoln - Why is he a great hero!?
Alright I have to write an essay about a hero and I chose Abraham Lincoln!. I need 3 reasons why he is my hero!. Well I have 2 already: He led America through one of the hardest times, the civil war!. And, about the emancipation proclamation which is basically when he abolished slavery!. But I need a 3rd reason!. If you can please write down all the reasons you have for why he is a hero, please do so!. If you have more than one reason please write it down because I want to be able to choose the best!. Thanks so much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He had a vision for the country, he knew that unless it was kept in tact it couldn't survive, most people in the country didn't care if the south seceded but Lincoln knew that if that happened neither the Northern Union nor the Southern Confederacy would have survived!. Contrary to what many revisionist "historians" claim Lincoln never encouraged anything related to slavery, while it's true that he said if preserving the union meant keeping slavery then he could accept that it only goes to show how important preserving the union was to him!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would say he could be considered your hero because he rose from virtual poverty to become America's most beloved president!. He moved around alot as a child, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois etc!. He taught himself by reading constantly!. He learned law on his own, eventually becoming a respected lawyer, orator, then congressman, then president!. He trusted the men in his cabinet, but kept the final decisions to his own judgment without alienating them!. All we know about him is that he was completely selfless!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
