Question: What are some passionate "love affairs" from the 16th - 1900's !?
Where "Kings" or "Queens" had to keep it hidden or where there was a lot of "drama" or where there was, after all, a "happy ending" !?

Queen Elizabeth I had a very close relationship with Robert Dudley, but he was married to someone else!. His wife Amy Robsart died in somewhat suspicious circumstances (falling downstairs while everyone was out) and although Elizabeth may have wished to marry him, she could not do so because of the scandal!. And eventually he married again, which made her very angry for a while!. However, she remained very fond of him, and when she died the last letter he had written to her was found among her things marked 'his last letter'!.

Napoleon and Josephine!. It was turmoil all the time, with her rejecting him, then him ultimately rejecting her because she did not provide him with an heir!. But I believe that they loved eachother all the while and Napoleon was devastated by her death!. I think the title of Emperor of the French was the only thing he loved more than Josephine and he ultimately gave her up for it!. But it's still a beautiful love story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A famous one was Napoleon and Josephine!. The drama came because he loved her but she was unable to have another child (she was a widowed mother of two when they married) and committed adultery!. They ultimately divorced, and his second wife did bear a son!. Josephine died of Diphtheria and Napoleon was died in exile!. Napoleon's son only lived to the age of eleven!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Duke and Duchess of Windsor!. If you don't know it, read about it!. Wonderful, passionate love story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
