Adolph Hitler was a corporal during the First World War, but of course is associated more with the Second World War!. He did suffer from the effects of mustard gas when on the Western Front, but I'm not sure if he was ever a prisoner of war at that time!. Wikepedia should be able to give you this information!. No, he was injured due to poison gas in the first world war and received the Iron Cross which is the equivalent of the Silver Star in the states!. As a result, he forced his generals not to use poison gas in battle!. Hypocritical he used it in the death camps, but not on the battle fields!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
