You could talk about the fact that Ancient Greece was an accumulation of city-states, whereas the Chinese Empire was huge and united!. One of the main reasons Alexander The Great could defeat the Greeks, was because they were not unified!. There was no such thing as a 'Greek' army, there were only armies from Athens, Sparta etc!. So them not being unified could be seen as a weak point, especially compairing to the Chinese Empire, who were able to have that empire for more than 2000 years!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, they were a slave-owning society, in Athens about 50% of the population were slaves (the slaves would mostly have been white, the Greeks tended to enslave each other, and other Europans, rather than Africans)!.

And they were perpetually at war with each other, practically the only time they stopped fighting was to have athletic contests with each other, the Olympic Games was founded for this specific purpose!.

However, a lot of good things came out of Greec,e they invented democracy, for instance, and the theatre, and they produced some wonderful art and architecture!.

The Chinese had a less democratic form of governement, and the ruling class could be extremely cruel and oppresive, so I am not sure that I would say that ancient china was better than ancient Greece!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ancient Greece was a much smaller country than China and was very mountainous, so they lacked resources!. Had to rely on trade to a very large degree!. Ancient China had more land for agriculture, and had plenty of resources, and could sustain a much larger population!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

huge population of slaves, blacks and whites!.

lack of bricks!.

entertainment based of killing people and animals!.

huge dependency on resources stolen from other civilizations through war!.

Slavery, pederasty and their ultimate downfall was their separation into states which eventually went to war (Sparta vs!. the Athenians and their allies)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
