The US lost a trading partner (95% of Cuba's trade was with the US, even when it was illegal under the Spanish)!. The Cubans were forced to turn to the Soviets for aid, which meant the Soviets could plant a military base right in Cuba!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It benefits the Cuban exile Oligarchy in Miami!. It most likely is also another way to add some chump change either to George W!. Bush's "retirement fund" that the rest of us will be paying for years or one of his buddies like Halliburton as he did with food going to our soldiers in Iraq that they made millions on!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Cuban government wins because with the embargo in place they get to keep control of the country!.
The USA government wins because it shows the rest of the world there really is a difference between capitalism and communism!.
