The Articles were so weak, it proved to the newly-independent states that they could achieve more if they were united!. The 11 years or so the states spent under the Articles gave them a taste of the opposite side of a monarch!. Think of it like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears-- Under the King of England's rule, the government had been too hot/controlling/powerful/overbearing; under the Articles, the government had been too cold/weak/powerless!.!.!. The states (following Shays's Rebellion) decided to create a government that was "juuust right," with the government's power falling somewhere between too powerful and too weak!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
