There were several effects

1: Food shortages in many areas due to the loss of farming villages

2: Shortages of skilled and unskilled labour

3: Reduction in trade due to shortages of labour and rerouting around highly infected areas!.

4: Reduction in construction, ship building and other advanced industries

One benefit was an increase in wages for many in both the skilled and unskilled labour due to the lack of people available so with demand many workers were going to the highest bidders!.

There were other effects but think of what the lack of workers in all jobs would do to a society!. Lords and Ladies had to work, tax collectors got half or less what they used to!. The effects were massive and lasted for years as the population recovered!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Widespread paranoia, not knowing who would die next and what was causing it!. Dead and sick were burned to try and get rid of it!. It probably felt like the end of the world to many in those days!. they couldn't even keep up with the amount of dead , so instead of burying them they burned them, basically utter chaos!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
