Nobles are the upper classes - they were lords and ladies, earls, etc!. They were one step below the royals and a step above the freemen!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nobles in the middle ages are those who held a fief, and usually, but not always, had titles associated with them (Count, Baron, Earl, etc)!. The fiefdom and title could have been acquired through inheritance or as a bequest from the King!.

Knights were not nobility, strictly speaking!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
