New England communities were more villages and towns!.
Merchants, tradesmen, no large farms, family businesses!.

The large farms of Chesapeake would produce their own supplies, make their own clothes, grow their own crops, bake their own bread, build their own furniture, etc!.

New England communities would buy their food, along with a small family garden for fresh produce, they would buy their clothes from a dress maker, their furniture from a furniture maker, they would trade goods and services!.

Chesapeake would grow things in bulk and sell to the North or Europe & England, usually cotton, tobacco, and timber for building!.
Sometimes fish and rice, also!.

The Chesapeake was more self-sufficient, and more isolated from each other!.
The North was more dependent upon one another and more of a community!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
