Visit this site:

This gives lists of archaeological trusts and groups in the northwest!. I suggest you contact one or more of these to see if they need volunteers - obviously, it will depend on which area you live in, if there are any current digs in that area, whether you have your own transport and so on!.

If there is a large museum in your area you could see if they know of any local digs; or you could try your local history group!. Register your interest with as many people as possible - this way you may be in luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If this is not your direct area, I am sure they will signpost you to a more local society!.
Alternatively, go to your local museum that has an Archaeological collection, or phone or email them - The keeper or curator of archaeology will be able help youWww@QuestionHome@Com

Try the British Archaeological Jobs Resource website, BAJR!. It has lots of fully commercial opportunities for those of us who do full time archaeology but also lots of links to volunteer filled sites across the world!.

Hope you study archaeology, and good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would say apply for the degree anyway, but in the mean time try asking the archaeologists at the university!. I suspect those on the digs will be almost exclusively graduates, undergraduates, or Tony Robinson!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

talk to someone at a university which has an archaeology department!.
maybe they can help
have a nice day!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I wouldnt bother - I worked on two digs and the volunteers were just used as unpaid labour; they werent informed about what was being discovered, it was just uninteresting manual labourWww@QuestionHome@Com
