It was a period of rebuilding for both!. In Europe, WWII had devestated countries such as France, Poland, Germany, etc!. In the same sense, Japan had been destroyed (Iwo Jima, atomic bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki are just a few examples)!.

Another similarity is that outside countries were contributing to having both European dn Asian countries rebuilt!. The Allies had divided up Berlin, and when mas Tse Tung established communism in China, the U!.S!. began looking for a "friend" in Asia-- ironically, they chose Japan, the same country they had destroyed in WWII!. So the Allies (including the U!.S!.) took on rebuilding Germany and Berlin, and the U!.S!. took on rebuilding Japan in order to have a non-communist ally in the Far East!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
