Most Russians lived in poverty even before the First World War which was one cause of the downfall of the Tsar's government!.

Many of the Russian people disliked the way that the Tsar ruled!. The promises of the October Manifesto weren't fulfilled and the Tsar cheated his own people!. He believed that only he and his family could rule!. The Tsar created the parliament called the Duma after the 1905 Revolution but in reality this had very few powers!.

The economy could not make the demands of fighting the war and civilians suffered badly!. People lost faith in the Romanov's fitness to govern!. The government was in shambles as they're army couldn't fight properly and it was corrupt and inefficient!. Ministers were replaced quickly by others!.

For some time, there had been revolutionary parties who wanted to overthrow the Tsar such as the Bolsheviks who were the most determined and they believed in the idea of communism and followed Karl Marx's ideas!.

The Conditions for most of the people were very bad!. 80% of the population were peasants!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Many people seem to forget that although their living conditions were harsh, the majority of Russian peasants were loyal to the czar!. The intelligentsia were the ones that incited revolt and revolution in Russia!.

Throughout much of the 19th century, the intelligentsia tried to get the peasants on their side, but they always failed!. The majority of peasants also never supported the revolutions near the end of World War I!.

One could also argue that Stalin, a well known communist leader, was really no different than the czars who ruled before him!. In fact, he attained what many of the czars had always desired!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
