I really don't understand this:
What is meant by separation of powers in American govt!?

Who was the president of the Continental Congress at the signing of the Declaration or Independence!?

What are 3-5 revolutionary ideas found in the Declaration of Independence!?

Declaration on Independence:
-that all men are created equal (although then they didn't count slaves!)
-no taxation without representation
-unailienable rights to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness
-duty of government to protect these rights
-the right of the people to alter or abolish the government when it does not protect these rights

The separation of powers is the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches!. They were formed with checks and balances so that one branch would not have complete power!. Each branch can do something to balance out the other two!. The Legislature can pass a law, the President can veto it or the Supreme Court can rule it as unconstitutional!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There was no president, our first government during the Revolutionary War was the Articles of Confederation, where all 13 colonies acted as separate countries with there own constitutions, Look into the preamble, 5 ideals were liberty, making a more perfect union, and to promote general welfare, secure the blessings of liberty, establish Justice, that's about all Www@QuestionHome@Com
