Question: What was the kill ratio on the eastern front during ww2 german:russian!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Soviet Military vs Axis Military ended up being about 2-1, (5 million axis vs 10 million Soviets) it was far higher in 1941, and approached 1-1 by the end of the war!. The Germans also inflicted about 17 million civilian casualties!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

All numbers are just estimates!. Best guesses are that Russia suffered about 7,500,000 military deaths (plus about 12,500,000 civilian), whereas Germany suffered about 2,750,000 military deaths, about 75% of them on the Eastern front!. That works out to a ratio of about 3!.6 - 1!.

Edit - I overlooked other Axis losses in Russia (Rumanian, Hungarian, Italian, Spanish (yes, Spanish!.!.)) which bring the ratio down to somewhere near 3:1!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That would vary by what type of weapon system and branch of military being discussed!. It is also pointless!. Germany was totally defeated!.!.!.!.That is the ultimate answer!. Killing is not the objective in a war!. To win is!. Variable killing is not always winning!. Wining in war means having a strategic goal and attaining it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
