America was more egalitarian than Britain because we didn't have an aristocracy!. In theory, everyone was equal!.
In the 17th century most people were still recent immigrants who had yet to make their fortune in America!. However, by the late 18th century some people were considerably wealthier than others!. This meant that the richer members of society had access to better education and had a higher standard of living!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
