It's a big question, so I'm not going to even try to answer it all, but on small part!.!.!.
b) Roman's liked to build roads!. It facilitated the rapid movement of troops and incidentally, traders!. The Roman military also established several means of bridging rivers to push their roads through!. In so doing, they allowed the movement of goods and people quickly, safely and more cheaply than previously possible and this contributed enormously to the growth of the economies of the countries around the mediterranean and the southern germanic areas which were either under Roman control or traded with them!.
