Well I would find it horrible to be able to ''buy'' people as you can buy animals!.!.!. no matter what their race!.!. that would make them inferior human beings if I had the power to buy them to do work for me!.!. That would mean I could take part of their freedom away!.!. and they had no say in it!.!. I agree in a way when we go to work!.!. we sell ourselves!.!.!.to the employer!.!. as we need a job and get money for it!.!.!. still I would not work in a job where I was treated like a slave!.!. again no matter if black or white!.!. I am glad that Abraham Lincoln was doing what he could against slavery!.!.!. he would have done the same if the slaves were white!.!.!. If I had a big manor house with a massive garden and a lot of money I would need some staff because I could not manage to look after such a place on my own but I would treat them as equals!.!.!. they would work for me out of their own free will and I would accept suggestions from them and talk to them as my equals and I would not buy them!.!. Slavery is more economic based than racially!. That the northern states did not have slavery and the southern states did had nothing to do with the south being racist!. The northern part of the United States has more industrial, while the southern states were agrarian!. Up to the end of the 19th century, agriculture was very labor extensive and slavery was a viable source of cheap labor!. Industrial work is more skilled and a slave would have made a poor factory worker!.

Slavery ,as we now call it,has been the normal everyday function of mankind since time began,each tribe raiding other tribes and carrying off the women and kids,it was a huge world wide business until views changed!.Now we have wage slaves and others starving because they have no food or money!.Nothing changes,only methods of operation!.In a slave driven society all nations bought and sold slaves and also ALL religions supported it and dealt in it!.Our modern attitudes are still nothing to crow about,we are still barely civilized as a species,look at the state of the world now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

From a purely economic perspective!. !. !. !. !. in today's world slavery is economically justifiable on in the most base third world economies where it still exists!. Any place else it simply isn't economically viable!. The cost of buying and maintaining a slave is too great as compared to other options!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Work is slavery!. Anyone who employs people already owns slaves!. We may be free to chose where we work but clearly we are not free from the economic system and the social pressure that forces us to sell our labour!.

I am a wage slave!. I am not free from the 40 hours a week I have to spend selling my labour just to survive!. I am not free to persue my interests!. Instead I have to present myself to the labour market everyday and earn money for the Boss so that he can continue trying to sell me things I don't need to keep me needing to work and therefore earning money for him!.

NO NO NO I wouldn't emply a slave or a cleaner etc!. I am too private and wouldn't wish to have anyone snooping round my things for one thing!. For another I wouldn't want to own a slave!.
