Question: What do you think about America today!?
It seems to me that a couple hundred years ago the people who formed the United States had a different idea!. If you wanted something you worked for it!. If someone helped you out, you were embarrassed if you did not do something for them in turn!. When your neighbor's barn burned down you helped him re-build it, but then he came and helped you to gather in your crops in the fall!.
Those who fought for America did it to gain their own pride in self, and not to look for a free ride!.
Now I watch the politics of today and see that there are many people who believe that the government's job is to take care of the American people!. Make us either dependent on the government or give to get something in return I don't know, but to watch all those who have their hands sticking out waiting for the free ride, it sickens me!.
I think that it may be important for History to teach us what America was based on before we choose someone who will just give us a hand-out instead of a useful hand!.

Wow! I can't agree more!! I am only 22 yet sometimes I wish it was more like it was "back in the day" because you're so right! there are SO MANY PEOPLE living off the government as well as using what they get to make MORE money off the government (getting medications from medicaid and selling them) I think we need to work for everything you receive, and if someone gives you a hand you bake them a pie of return the favor SOMETHING!! I also believe a wife should stay at home, and the husband should bring home the bacon, I believe if the wife doesn't work, she should take care of her husband when he is home such as making his plate, so he can sit down and relax after working a long day, I know so many women, who stay home with their children, then the dad comes home from working all day and she makes him change the diapers and get his own food, people think i spoil my fiance, but he works his butt off 6-7 days a week so I have the opportunity to be home with our son!. I have my job he has his!. But we both work hard so we can give our son a good life, we have had hard times and we did everything we could not to get on public assistance, and we were successful, if just takes hard work and the can do attitude!. I agree with you 100% too many people sit around and either take the tax payers money or mommy & daddy pay their way!. (that's what really sickens me) is all these teenagers that mommy and daddy buy new cars and a nice new cell phone or whatever, and they go out and party with the money their parents give them instead of getting a job of their own and making their own money!. I see this OFTEN!.

Despite all the bad things going on I can still see many good people in America who help others!. The problem is the government had used the people more than it should lately!. The government must give back & create more opportunities to the people who need!. This way they won't be dependants!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I agree completely!. I think we have fallen into the old history repeats itself trap!. We have been so busy looking for a way around things we tripped over history and fell flat on our faces!. I think Washington has gotten so out of hand and under-handed it is unreal!. They have their hands out and corporate America is filling those!. It has gotten to the point where government deregulation has allowed big business to really get over on the consumer and there is no one there to look out for us!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
