Constantine - as far as Christianity goes!. Christ didn't do a lot of "influencing" and could have been forgotten but for his legacy!. Paul (Saul of Tarsus) influenced some, but he was known to become quite verbose, and one of his "congregation", who was sitting in a two-storey window, fell asleep and fell out! Constantine changed the EMPIRE of Rome's religion to Christianity (I'd say that is a bit of influence) and sent his mother (Josephine!?) on a pilgrimage of the Holy Lands preserving Holy places and building churches upon many (thus further converting believers--influence)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Paul of Tarsus - - just to be different
Of course the Islamic world would say Mohammed, but in a Christian area of the world I agree with the answers that name Jesus as the most influential individual person!.

Taking the Jesus idea further, I suggest St!. Paul because Jesus wrote nothing down!. If not for St!. Paul - the message may not have reached so many people over the centuries following the death of Jesus!.

Paul walked an estimated 10,000 miles over ~ 30 years preaching and organizing the early Christian Church in the eastern Mediterranean world!.

Paul wrote 13 of the 27 books in the New Testament of the Christian bible!. [Without the New Testament, the bible is entirely Hebrew!.]

{It has always bothered me a bit that Paul - who wrote half of the Christian part of the bible - never met Jesus, never heard Jesus preach, and never talked with Jesus about the way the Church should be formulated!.}
