well its not the artificats but what they mean!.

In 1920 or so, A british archeologist was in Cairo, and passed a shop and noticed a item in the window that he realized immediately was very old!. He threatened to get the Egyptian government to arrest him if he didnt help him with some research!. (law is no artifact can be sold)

At the time the Valley of the Kings had been explored severely, mostly dug out by grave robbers over 1000's of years!. But there were so many mysteries left there!.

Tutunkhaimen, (King Tut) was one of the biggest!. At the time the only evidence of such a person were names and images on artifacts found over the years!.

The brit decided that he wanted to try to find the true tomb if it existed, and got permission for a 4 year dig!. He hired a team of diggers and helpers!.

Near the end of the 4th year, with time running out they found the tomb!.

Cleopatra: same thing!. All we have are names on artifacts and pictures and sculptures!. No one knows 100% for sure if she existed and where she's burried!. Many think they do!.

TROY: a trader (i think spain) grew up reading the "Illiad" the book written by Homer that tells of the great city and its fall!. He made a promise to his father that he would be the first person to ever find the true city!.

He followed every clue he could but for a long time found nothing!. Then one day he finds a spot that matches the book!. He found 10 cities, built on top of each other!. He found the 3rd from the bottom to be the real troy!.

What im saying is that its not really the artifacts, all though a real mummy or sarcophogus is cool to look at, but where they lead!.

Usually a artifact is a key to a puzzle!.
