I've perused the census for genealogy research and have found washer woman, laundress, seamstress, cutting hair, cook, maid, hotel keeper, keeping shop, saloon girl, waitress, librarian teacher, and secretary!. There are other unsavory occupations that one wouldn't have listed on a government document!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

One of my great grandmas was a teacher in the 1920's!. My other great grandma worked at Dayton's (now Macy's) from the 1920's until the 1970's!. She worked in pretty much every department!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
