Well he was the most famous artist of the 20th century a hailed genius,he could do anything he liked,because he conquered the artistic visual world!.No one before or since Picasso has achieved what he did in his life time!.He had the midas touch what ever he touched virtually turned to gold!. Imagine for a second that you were Picasso,with all that fame,glory and wealth your ego would be like Mt Everest,you would feel like an Olympic champion who won all the gold medals !? Picasso enjoyed all his wealth coz he could,it was at his Beck and call!.

Picasso lived a long life and became famous rather early!. He was enormously productive and sold his works at high prices!. So he lived well after his early struggles for recognition!.
He was not the only successful artist, though!. Others did quite well - Monet, Whistler, and Chagall among them!. Earlier, the English portraitists Gainsborough, Reynolds, and others also made nice livings!.
During the Renaissance, some of the more successful artists ran large workshops with assistants that filled in the details after the master had sketched out the work!. So they did pretty well, too!.
Not all famous artists were recognized only after their deaths!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
