The deeds and misdeeds of the president's family and near relatives are often a source of mirth and ridicule to his opponents, and embarrassment to his supporters, but which president's family is the most extreme example!? And which president's family couldn't even his opponents find much to object to!?
Please, don't let party considerations influence your answer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Every Presidential family has had members to make it proud and members that brought a certain degree of embarrasment or shame, just as every family does!. As far as the most extreme examples, I would have to say that a somewhat surprising choice might be Harry Truman!. Truman's biggest problem, family wise, was his love for his daughter, Margaret Truman!. Margaret was a musician who loved to sing and desperately wanted to sing professionally!. While Harry was in the White House, she gave multiple concerts, which were all very poorly received by the critics and public alike!. Harry was furious at the poor reception, and wound up threatening one particularly negative critic with physical harm, saying something to the effect that the man would need beefsteaks for his eyes when he was done with him!. The Whole thing wound up becoming a big source of ridicule and jokes at the president's expense!. As far as families beyond reproach, I don't think Eisenhower's family ever had any problems, that I know of, and the same might go for several others, but I can't think of any off the top of my head!. Www@QuestionHome@Com The Kennedys were quite respected back in the 60s, with Jack as Prez, Bobby as Attorney General and Teddy warming up in the wings for US Senator!. The Bushes keep two of their sons locked away in a home so they can stop embarrasing the family!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com personally, i think the Clinton's are fairly respected, despite his misdeeds!. And despite the fact that Bush has done nothing of the sort, he's not very well respected!. :o( It's a sad, sad state of affairs our country is in!.
