The British were using malta as a base for attacking the conveys that were supposed to be supplying Rommel in north africa!. Needless to say Hitler wasnt happy and ordered the Luftwaffe to level Malta!. Thankfully they failed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Dresden Germany was the most bombed place i know others have said it :) it had more TNT dropped on it that the atomic bombs dropped on japan!. the fibombs that where dropped also did more damage it was reduced to rubble you can find pictures of the city on fire taken from British night bombing raids on February 13 1945 773 RAF Lancaster bombers attacked the city at night this was followed up with 600 B-17's attacking on the 14th and 15thWww@QuestionHome@Com Many places could lay claim to that title depending on how you measured it!. By number of raids, tonnage dropped, degree of devastation!? Dresden was reduced to rubble, but Hamburg was also the target of massive, around the clock, bombing that left huge portions totally destroyed!. Many Japanese cities, Tokyo included, were firebombed and had huge areas burned to nothing!. Some of the islands in the Pacific were hit by a combination of aerial and ship bombardment that left almost nothing on the entire surface of the island!. I would have to think, however, that Germany was bombed heavier towards the end of the war!. At Dresden, I think the city burned to the ground because the bombing was so heavy!.
