This was an important election for many reasons!. Teddy Roosevelt ran as a 3rd party candidate, which split the republican vote and gave power to the democrats (for the first time since the Civil War)!. This caused World War I to be totally different than it would have been otherwise!. Just as important was Eugene Debb's run as a socialist candidate!. He had a decent chance at winning, and this was the closest America has ever come to socialism, which just a few years later would be considered our biggest enemy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Theodore Roosevelt running for office under the Bull Moose Party split the Republican vote which resulted in a win for the Democrats!. This was the last election that had three party candidates running for office of the presidency!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The lady above me makes a good point, but also, Wilson allowed for the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913 which forever changed the way the US and the world's economy works!.
