etc)

This doesnt show us how many men were in the armed forces where of course many wars were being faught!. The Crimean war was being fought in the middle of the 1850's with forces from Britain, France, Turkey amd Sardinia being involved!.

Men were also our lawyers, doctors, landlowners, MP's and all other sorts of high end jobs!.

Skilled occupations included shipbuilding and engineering!. Miners and railway workers were also included in this 'skilled' area!.

Labourers, dockers and chain makers were the so called 'unskilled' workers!.

Everything!. It is worth remembering that this is pre-equality!. Women only worked if they were single, widowed, or thrown onto the street (Divorced), or taking a role in husbands business!.

All other jobs were done by the men!. The links for this would be too numerous!. However, you might look at mining, iron and steel works, rail (See Wolverton Works), etc!.
