I don't agree with Britain sorry!.
If you look at the real facts, France has more colonies than Britain!.We've virtually handed all our colonies away/Independence etc where as France has kept more of her own colonies!.
Britain also depends on the US more to supply it's arms, while France is virtually independent!. Has it's own nuclear weapons which it has developed itself!. Still develops it's own fighter aircraft, such as the superb Dassault Rafale, which is definitely one of the best fighter aircraft in the world today!. No matter what some Americans might say!.
I know most of you won't agree, but the real fact's, if you actually look at the situation will prove me right!.

We are a bit of a USA poodle, while France has it's own mind and decides on what's in it's own best interest, unlike Britain!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Certainly Britain, since the British Commonwealth of Nations (once all part of the British Empire) is made up of 52 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Canada and India who meet regularly to discuss various world political issues and their involvement in them!. In many ways it is a far more effective force than the UN!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Definitely Britain!. Although I would like to point out to the poster who stated it still held sway over its colonies!. Britain doesn't have any
colonies!.The second poster is correct!. Because of the Commonwealth

I'm confused about your choice of examples!. Germany had very few colonies - Namibia and part of Cameroon!. There may have been more but they were not significant!.
However, Portugal and Spain had significant numbers of colonies, as did the Dutch!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
