The Great Awakening opened the eyes of believers to the truths of Scripture, instead of the ideas and teachings of men!. The Holy Spirit made believers realize that we are saved by grace through faith, and not by works!. The Church was awakened to the fact that the various "religious" practises, such as the formalities observed by the Catholic and Anglican churches, were nothing more than man's attempt to reach up to God!. That's not to say that there is anything wrong with order in our worship, but God desires mercy more than sacrifice!. The church had become too religious and had forgotten its mandate!. Religion is man made, true Christianity is God made!. Being a Christian simply means you have a personal relationship with Christ!. The church was also awakened to the evils of humanism and related beliefs as well as the war that exists n the spiritual realm!. The Church was awakened to the fact that believers needed the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit to survive and do God's will!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
