I have to agree!. Of the singular most event (s) that convinced America that they were losing the war would have to be the Tet Offensive!. And the tragedy there is that Gen Giap (Commander of the NVA) thought that they'd lost the war at that point and was stunned to find that as he was about to throw in the towel, the U!.S!. threw theirs in first!.

I would also add that the U!.S!. "news" media did just about everything it could to undermine the war effort with all of it's negative campaigning and newly discovered power of "instant" coverage!. Seeing Uncle Johnny getting blown up on the 6 o'clock news went a long way towards showing the horrors and tragedy of war!. After that, it's a toss up between Johnson and Nixon's demanding to micro manage the war to the point of not allowing the on scene commanders decide what is and is not a viable target and McNamara's being convinced that the war was a lost cause all the while sending in more and more troops!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1968 Tet Offensive was the major even that turned the public against the war leading towards our eventual pulling out of South Vietnam

1!.Media pushed this event as if it were a major loss for the Americans when it was not
2!.Various scandals such as Watergate destroyed the publics trust in our leaders and their judgment
3!.People didnt see a a valid reason to fight, were told lies, country turned upside down, riots, killings, crazyness, most of country seeked peace and stability in their lives

My answer is the obvious best, what are you waiting for give me the best answer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

During the TET Offensive of 1968, Walter Cronkite went Vietnam to report on the Battle personally!. During one his broadcasts, he made the comment, "we have lost the war!."!.!.!.not exact qoute!. Here's the point, everyone in Washington started saying, "If we've lost Cronkite, we've lost the war!." That was pretty true too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Electing a Democrat!.

This is a surefire way to lose a war!. Since the 60s they have been the party of Anti-American socialism and surrender!. Incompetence and anti-military sentiments are a bad combo!. Look at their convention from that time!. What a mess!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
