Great Britain and Ireland are both large countries with alot of variation in them!. There are parts of Britain that are alot like Ireland!. However, the less celtic and religious parts of britain like London or Surrey are nothing like Ireland at all!. They are very close to eachother geographically but have very different cultures!. You visit Ireland with that attitude and you will be beaten to a pulp!. I'm not condoning it I'm just warning you!.

The two are totally different!. They both have completely different cultures and landscapes!. Amazingly enough they also have different climates!. Ireland is wetter and more 'lush' because the wind is coming from the ocean while Britain has a more continental climate!.

also Great Britain isn't a country it is three countries!. That is like calling Scandanavia a country!.

Shadowolf: Grow up!. What happended is in the past!. Get over it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

~I'd say ask Bobby Sands, but he's out to lunch!. Oops, no he's not - he should have been!. Ireland and Northern Ireland aren't as similar as Wales and South Africa!. Perhaps you should look into the subject before you go!. And by all means, figure out which Ireland you plan to visit and, if you go to both, make sure you keep the differences in mind when you cross the border!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Northern I reland is still part of the United Kngdom, however southern Ireland has been a Republic for many years now!.

Ireland is well worth a visit, it is a very beautiful country with lots of castles, prehistoric sites, interesting places to visit, and the people are very friendly and hospitable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Are Great Britain and Ireland almost the same country!?

How insulting! The problem with the English is that they think all of Britain belongs to them including Scotland and Northern Ireland and it doesn't, these people have their own unique culture Heritage and traditions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Despite the petty nationalisms and historical wranglings, although they are different sovereign states they are similar in many respects!. But if you have the time and the interest, while you are in one you may as well visit the other as they are so closeWww@QuestionHome@Com

Far from it, dear me, no!

Culture, religion, eco - all divides them!.
