After France's defeat from the British, France lost all its North American possessions to Britain!. Now the British in order to protect the colonists from Indians that inhabitated the lands ceded by the French issued the Proclamation of 1763!. This prohibited the colonist to settle to the Western Lands (ceded lands)!. The British did this because the Seven Years' War was very costly and they knew any altercation between the white colonists and the Indians would mean more expenses both in man power and money!. However, the colonists felt that they were being robbed of their rights because they felt they had self-entitlement to settle in these "dangerous" lands since they were in fact part of the British colonies as of then!.

This was another added reason for the growing resentment towards the British along with other Acts of Parliaments (e!.g!. Stamp Act), which ultimately resulted in to the Revolution!.

however at the end of the war, Great Britain was strapped for cash and could not support soldiers who would be needed to protect colonists from Indians beyond the Appalachians!. because Great Britain could not finance the soldiers, it forbade American Colonists from expanding further west!. also, people back in England did not want to pay off the war dept, incurred from the war with France, so the burden of the debt was left to the colonists!. and thus brought the infamous taxation without representation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The American front of the Seven Years War is known as the French and Indian war!. During this conflict, American soldiers fought in militias alongside British regular troops!. The British, over the course of the war, gained a very negative view of the American soldiers, seeing them as cowardly, backwards, undisciplined, unprofessional, and very bad soldiers!. They definitely underestimated the Americans later on as a result of this!.
