Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
General MacArthur's forces landed at Incheon and cut the North Korean forces in half, forcing them to retreat back into North Korea and eventually all the way to the Yalu River at the border of NK and China since the allies had effectively taken over all of North Korea following the landing at Incheon!.

The Chinese considered allied troops at the Yalu River an act of war and actually sent troops against our forces!. After we thwarted that attack China lost interest and the North Koreans surrendered!. The 38th parallel was agreed to as the partition between communist North Korea and democratic South Korea and that is how it still stands today!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

North Korea's supply lines were just too long, and they had to finish the Pusan perimeter quickly or not at all!. Their coordination was not good, and they never decided on a Schwerpunkt, using a poor form of Soviet tactics instead (i!.e!., not one the Soviets would have stuck with)!. Even so, they might have succeeded had the Marines not been used as a mobile "fire brigade" shuffling from one hot spot to another!. Even without the Inchon landing, the breakout would have worked nicely after that!.
In war, tactics are nice, but it's logistics that often make the difference!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think the firing of General MacArthur!. We ended out having to sign a truce at the 49th Parallel or something like that!.
The Russians and the Chinese were attacking with the N Koreans (equipment, planes, troops)!. So, Truman didn' want us to go after the Chinese territory etc!. So MacArthur said you can't fight that way!. Go after your enemies!. And, he got fired!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

MacArthur landed troops at Inchon which threatened to cut off the North Korean army from their supply lines!. This forced them to pull some forces away from the Pusan perimeter and allowed the allies to push them back!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
