Question: What questions can be asked about Socrates affect on Greek society!?
The questions have to be more in depth as the research continues, what questions would be good to begin with!?

I'm thinking:

what was the Greek way of life like when Socrates lived!?
What was Socrates upbringing like!?
Why did Athens fall!?
Was there any opposition to Socrates

I need 6 initial questions then they get more advanced as I find more research e!.g I could research individual people who were opposed to Socrates!.

Hope, that makes some sense

Thank you for any help

It's all about his philosophy and how this affected Greece

1!. What was the socio-political/philosophical situation in Athens/the wider Mediterranean at the time of Socrates' early years!?
2!. What are the main biographical features of Socrates' life!?
3!. What are the main precepts of Socratic thought!?
4!. How did Socrates suggest these be applied to daily life!?
5!. Why were these ideas considered 'corrupting' for Athenian youth!?
6!. What was Socrates' immediate legacy after his death and did this have any effect on the political situation in Athens!?

I'd be surprised if his teaching had any immediate effect on Athens - I think the Spartan wars, internal strife (very un-Socratic) and Alexander the Great had more to do with Athens' fall!. Our only real source for Socrates' teachings is Plato so you may want to differentiate between the Platonic Socrates and a historical one!. Plato visited Sparta and was very impressed with what he saw there - his Republic is based on Spartan lines of government!. Very scary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
