Because he was flippin' crazy!. Plus it probably would be "frowned upon"(to say the least) to be quoting Hitler in non-Nazi circles!. Maybe when historians call him a great orator they are referring to his delivery and not the content of his speeches!. He may have gotten an entire country to do is bidding but I can't think of a single occasion where it would be appropriate to quote anything from that psycho!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because a) no one wants to remind themselves what they fell for, or to seem to be promoting nazi ideals!. and b) because he was an ORATOR!. It was in his manner of speaking and the convinction and passion with which he said it that people claimed to find so "Hypnotic"!. It wasn't about the content!.

The man who spoke before Lincoln at the dedication of the Gettysburg cemetary was considered one of the greatest orators of his day!. He spoke for two hours!. The crowd cheered him, they loved it!. However, it was Lincoln's two minute speech, delievered in what be most accounts was a highest squeeky voice, that everyone quotes!. Oration is a matter of style, not content!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think he's so condemned by history, that people are unwilling to quote him - To do that would show sympathy for H!., imply that for some reason you like him!.

I think Hittler had style and not content!. His style was to use emotion and energy to focus the will of the masses to do his bidding!. He used german's own anti-semitism to fuel his war efforts!. Every one of his speeches blamed the jews for something wether it be the war, german poverty, crime, etc etc etc!. He channelled their frustration and unspoken bigotry into a goal that he has predefined!.

also, hittler made sure he was the only one heard!. No one could question him publicly without being killed by NAZI thugs!. This would give anyone a huge advantage in the political ring!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think him starting World War II and the whole holocaust thing overshadows whatever "good quotes" he had to be remembered by!.

Further, I think he was charismatic and able to deliver his points in a exciting and animating way, not necessarily that he had good substance!.

Being a great orator doesn't require a person to be creative!. It just means that he was a good speaker!. Given material anyone can put some emotion and their personal touch to it!. It doesn't have to contain anything memorable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Things don't necessarily translate well from one language to another!. When I was in Germany, I knew many Germans who could quote many sayings from Hitler!.
