The Italian states!.!.!.Milan, Florence, Sicily, Rome, etc!. were all independant states till the late 1800's when they joined to become the country of Italy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Besides Italy, Germany was not unified either!. (not till 1870)

Most of the countries of Eastern Europe did not exist yet (except Poland);
these would have to wait till the 20th century!.
