1!. Renaissance thought inspired many to think differently from what was known at the time!. It inspired European nations to explore new territory, and thus, colonize and expand their respective empires!.

2!. By searching for new trade routes, new lands were discovered, Christopher Columbus!. He sought a new trade route to Asia across the Atilantic, but really discovered the Carribbean islands, and as a result, all the European nations began to explore this New World and colonize it to increase their respective empires (such as France, Britain, Spain, Portugal!.!.)

3!. New technological developments allowed navigation of the seas to be much easier (to the standards of that time anyway), and exploration flouished!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

The renaissance thought was that in order to conquer the world they must first understand the act of mastication and therefore spent decades mastering the palate!.
