He certainly did NOT control the state of Oregon but he did establish an ashram and self styled city there for a few years in the 1980s!.

No Indian guru had control of an American state, at least not one that was part of the USA!.

For one thing, I'm not sure that the federal government could just give away an entire state without the citizens of that state consenting to it some way!. Most of the people I've known in my life would not merely be up in arms if the Feds tried such a thing, but they'd likely take TO arms to prevent it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
