most of us the three names, but are usually just referred to by the first and last, I've always wondered why they use all three names for infamous people to, it doesn't seem to make much sence!. Perhaps when they are caught and processed by the police the name is given to the media as written on the processing forms, and as those forms are offical they use the whole name!. Just a guess mind you, I'm not actually sure thats why the three names are used!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As indicated in another answer, in the U!.S!. (and many other countries as well), most people have three names!. Assassins are probably reported in the news with all three names to prevent damaging the reputations of people like Lee Richard Oswald, John Walter Booth, Leon David Chapman, and John Hinkley IV!. And Sirhan Albert Sirhan!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nonsense!. Americans tend to go by three names!. Other countries have very different naming conventions!. I myself am cursed with four baptism names, for example!. In Thailand people usually have two names, no more!.

The murderer of Pim Fortuyn is Volkert vd Graaf!.
The murderer of Theo van Gogh is Mohammed Bouyeri
