Question: Feeling the effects of the cold war!.
With all that has being going in the world for the 20 years do you think America is feeling the effects of the cold war, backing any country that was anti Russian for 40 plus years!. Supplying the Afghans with weapons and then just leavening them after the Russian retreat just for example!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It could be argued that in some ways they are reaping what they sowed!.
Perhaps if they had left Afghanistan alone & not funded the Muhjadeen then perhaps some of the terrors would not have happened!.
But - there again, perhaps without their involvement the USSR would still be in place!.

You mention "leaving the Afgans" and refer to our "feeling the effects"!.

Well, I can say that they are very much like our FEEDING AND SUPPLYING THE SOVIETS against the NAZIS and then having them go against us!. We should have let Hitler get a bit further into Russia before we helped those ingrates and traitors and we wouldn't have had a Cold War!. The Soviets were the reason that Hitler got such a strong start anyway! They invaded and raped Half of Poland the same time that the Nazis did!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, but it is we the people that feel these effects!. Goto the Gas stations and see the price!. This price is there because there are to many free countries in direct competition with our resources!. Before they were aligned with our enemy the USSR and we kept them out of the pool, as in blacklisted!. So the end of the cold war opened markets, it opend them here for there goods but unbalanced in our goods!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Prez jimmy carter's adviser, Brzezinski (hope I spelled that right), said
recently - On the John Stewart, or Steven Colbert show - that the war in Afganistan creted the Taliban but destroyed the USSR; so it was worth it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
