The Grand Empire of Napoleon replaced the ailing Holy Roman Empire which was basically a continuation of the ancient Roman Empire!. Napoleon had crowned himself emperor of the French in 1804 and in 1806, he ended the Holy Roman Empire once and for all by replacing it with the Confederation of the Rhine, a French protectorate!. the best empire ever was the British Empire!. It shaped alot of how the modern world is as we now know it(Canada,USA,Australia,NZ etc) also modernised rules of law and infrastructure these things were created to a great effect under it especially in countries like India!. Dont forget the US constitution is heavily influenced off English Common Law!. also the largest ever empire with 25% of the world's resources being controlled by the British Government!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Read books on Prussian Empire and one author may have called it grand!. It was largest Empire!. Because of amount of culture, religion language some might call Romain Empire grand!.
